Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF) remains on schedule to deliver first rare earths monazite concentrate production from the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi in Q4 2026, with mining ramping up and construction advancing toward front-end commissioning in late October.
Ore is now being mined and stockpiled ahead of commissioning, with production drill-and-blast underway and initial blasts completed. The haul road is finished, while grade control sampling and development of the run-of-mine pad and heavy mining equipment laydown areas are progressing.
Practical completion remains targeted for November 2026.

Construction advances
Process plant construction is accelerating, with SAG mill civil works progressing and thickener civil and structural installation underway.
Plant cable racking has been delivered to site, while additional mechanical fitters, boilermakers, electricians, riggers and steel erectors are mobilising to increase execution capacity.
Tailings storage facility works are progressing toward completion by the end of October. Phase 1 of the 33kV high-voltage overhead powerline is complete, with electrical works continuing ahead of plant energisation.
Water infrastructure is also advancing, including borehole completion works, with remaining works targeted for completion by the end of October.
Executive director Zac Komur said the project was moving into a phase where construction, mining and operational readiness were progressing concurrently.
"The build-up of ore inventory, completion of key infrastructure and expansion of the operating team are all supporting Kangankunde's transition from a construction project toward an operating rare earth mine."\

Operational readiness
Recruitment is underway for key metallurgy and plant operations roles, while standard operating procedures are targeted for completion by the end of October.
Lindian is also expanding capability around its SARECO mixed rare earth carbonate processing facility in Kazakhstan, where 25 existing personnel are transferring to the company.
The SARECO team is expected to grow to about 75 personnel as the facility moves toward MREC production in Q4 2026.
Next steps
Lindian's immediate focus is completing remaining construction, electrical, water and tailings infrastructure ahead of front-end commissioning in October.
The company will also continue building ore stockpiles, recruiting operational personnel and completing commissioning procedures ahead of practical completion in November and first monazite concentrate production in Q4 2026.
