Autodesk, Inc. (ADSK), with a market capitalization of approximately $128.2 billion, is a global software company providing design and engineering solutions. The San Francisco, California-based company's technology supports architecture, engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing, media, and entertainment, helping customers design, create, and manage products, buildings, and infrastructure.

Shares of the enterprise software giant have considerably underperformed the broader market over the past year. ADSK has declined 14.8% over this period, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 19.3%. On a year-to-date basis, ADSK has continued to underperform, plunging 16.6%, compared with the index's 12.4% gain over the same period.

Narrowing the comparison, ADSK has also underperformed the iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV), which has declined 6.8% over the past year and 3.5% year to date.

For the current fiscal year ending in January 2027, analysts expect ADSK's diluted EPS to rise 40.2% to $9.70. ADSK has surpassed consensus EPS estimates in each of the past four quarters, which is impressive.

Among the 32 analysts covering ADSK stock, the consensus rating is "Strong Buy." The rating is based on 27 "Strong Buy" ratings, one "Moderate Buy" rating, and four "Hold" ratings.

ADSK's analyst configuration is more bullish than it was a month ago, when the stock had 26 "Strong Buy" suggestions.

On August 18, Morgan Stanley analyst Elizabeth Porter maintained a "Buy" rating on Autodesk and a $315 price target, citing improving demand, stronger margins, solid free cash flow, and resilience against AI disruption.

The mean price target of $320.72 implies a 30% upside from ADSK's current share price, while the Street-high target of $456 suggests a potential upside of 84.8%.
