SIG has appointed Ann-Kristin Erkens as its new chief executive (CEO), replacing Mikko Keto only months after he took the role.

Keto had taken on the role of CEO on 1 March 2026.

Erkens joined SIG as chief financial officer (CFO) in November 2023. She will continue in that role until a replacement is appointed.

She was interim CEO from August 2025 to the end of February 2026.

Before arriving at SIG, she spent more than 20 years at Henkel in senior positions.

Erkens said: "SIG has a strong business, leading technology and long-standing customer relationships. Our priorities are clear: to focus our resources on the areas where we can grow our business to create the greatest value for our customers and shareholders, to further improve operational performance, and to maintain strict cost and capital discipline."

SIG chair Ola Rollén said: "Mikko joined SIG at an important point in the Company's development and has contributed to the progress made over the recent months. I would like to thank him for his commitment to SIG and wish him all the best for the future.

SIG said its Capital Markets Day will go ahead as scheduled on 27 October 2026 at The Circle Convention Center at Zurich Airport.

In the first half (H1) of 2026, its adjusted EBIT [earnings before interest and taxes] margin rose to 15.6% from 14.8% a year earlier while free cash flow increased by more than €100m ($115.8m).

The Swiss packaging company said its full-year 2026 financial guidance, restated in the H1 2026 earnings release, has not changed.

Last year, it launched a transformation programme to focus on "higher-margin, higher-growth" aseptic businesses, divest smaller non-aseptic units, and boost operational efficiency.
