Dallas, Texas-based Jacobs Solutions Inc. (J) is a global professional services and engineering firm that designs, manages, and delivers complex infrastructure and technology projects. Its capabilities span advanced manufacturing, water and environmental services, transportation, energy, life sciences, digital infrastructure, and cities.
Companies worth $10 billion and $200 billion are generally described as "large-cap stocks," and Jacobs Solutions, with a market cap of $16.9 billion, fits that description, underscoring its size, influence, and dominance within the engineering & construction industry.

However, J shares have slipped 14.9% from their 52-week high of $168.44, achieved on Oct. 24, 2025. Over the past three months, J stock has declined 18.5%, compared to the State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund's (XLI) 6.2% dip.
Shares of J surged 8.3% on a YTD basis and dipped 4.2% over the past 52 weeks, underperforming XLI's YTD gains of 9.4% and 11.1% returns over the last year.
To confirm the bullish trend, J has been trading above its 200-day moving average since late July, and above its 50-day moving average since early June.
Jacobs Solutions has trailed the broader market over the past year amid weak top-line and earnings growth. Sales have declined 6.2% annually over the past five years, while EPS has fallen 6.1% annually over the past two years, weighing on investor expectations for near-term growth. Its 8.2% return on invested capital also points to relatively modest returns on the capital deployed in the business, adding to concerns about profitability and capital efficiency.
In the competitive arena of engineering & construction, TopBuild Corp. (BLD) has taken the lead over J, showing resilience with a 9.5% uptick over the past 52 weeks.
Still, Wall Street analysts are moderately bullish on J's prospects. The stock has a consensus "Moderate Buy" rating from the 15 analysts covering it, and the mean price target of $164.33 suggests a potential upside of 14.6% from current price levels.
