Plano, Texas-based Tyler Technologies, Inc. (TYL) provides integrated software and technology management solutions for the public sector in the United States. Valued at a market cap of $14.2 billion, the company operates in two segments, Enterprise Software and Platform Technologies, and designs, develops, markets, and supports a range of software solutions to serve mission-critical back-office functions.

Companies with a market cap of $10 billion or more are typically referred to as "large-cap stocks." TYL fits perfectly into that category, with its market cap exceeding this threshold and reflecting its substantial size and influence in the software application industry.

Despite its strength, shares of Iron Mountain are down 36.2% from its 52-week high of $543.30, touched on Sept. 17, 2025. Moreover, TYL has grown 16.2% over the past three months and has outperformed the Dow Jones Industrial Average ($DOWI), which has declined 1% during the same period.

Zooming out a little further, the scenario changes. Over the past 52 weeks, TYL has fallen 35.2%, lagging behind DOWI's 12.5% gain.

TYL has been trading below its 200-day moving average since this week and above its 50-day moving average since late July.

The company has been facing issues regarding its valuation re-rating and decelerating top-line growth, with quarterly revenue growth being lower than expected, making it difficult to sustain its higher valuation. Moreover, its Q2 2026 earnings also did not go over well with investors and analysts. Its revenue for the period amounted to $645.1 million, falling short of Wall Street forecasts, with its adjusted EPS of $3.08 beating consensus forecasts. TYL expects full-year adjusted EPS in the range of $12.95 to $13.20, and revenue in the range of $2.5 billion to $2.6 billion. The company's shares declined more than 3% in the trading session following its earnings release.

When stacked against its peer, Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (CDNS), TYL has underperformed as well. Over the past year, CDNS stock has fallen 19.8%.

Despite that, sentiment on TYL remains highly optimistic. Among the 23 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a "Strong Buy." Its mean price target of $421.82 suggests 21.8% upside from current levels.
