Worthington Enterprises (NYSE: WOR) hasn't held an investor day since it changed its name from Worthington Industries nearly three years ago. That change came after it spun off Worthington Steel, separating its steel processing operations from its range of branded products.
Now the company is taking another step toward further defining its business segments for investors. That will be discussed directly at an Investor and Analyst Day in November. Investors are already cheering the change, though.

Worthington stock jumped over 10% Wednesday morning and held onto a 10.1% gain as of 12:37 p.m. ET.
The company wants investors to know that it has a sharp focus on its high-demand construction, heating, and cooling products. That includes demand from data center construction, making some investors see Worthington as an under-the-radar data center play.
It's no secret that large tech companies, along with investment institutions, are spending billions to build more data centers. Double-digit sales growth in its most recent quarter was propelled by demand from contractor end-users and varied distribution channels, bolstered by a predominantly domestic manufacturing presence.
That includes water tanks used for liquid cooling in data centers, where momentum continues to build. Those products will now be grouped under Worthington's Building Performance Solutions business segment. The newly named Trade & Specialty Solutions group will focus more on general construction products.
Investors will hear more on Nov. 10, when the company holds an Investors and Analyst Day. For now, though, investors are happy to find another way to benefit from the ongoing massive data center build-out.
