Skyworks Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:SWKS) rallied as Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL, XETRA:APC) smartphone launch raised expectations for stronger component sales, while progress on its pending Qorvo Inc (NASDAQ:QRVO) merger eased deal uncertainty.
The chipmaker's shares rose 12% to $89.06 in afternoon trading.
The market report pointed to Apple's latest flagship smartphone lineup, including its first foldable device, as the main catalyst for the radio-frequency component supplier.
Apple generates a substantial share of Skyworks' revenue, and more complex radio-frequency requirements in new phone designs could increase the value of components sold per device.
Meanwhile, management said at an industry conference that the Qorvo combination had reached its final regulatory review stages after clearing US antitrust waiting periods.
Skyworks also secured required debt financing on favourable terms, while the report said investors responded positively to reduced deal timeline risk and the combination's strategic potential.
Management's updated capital allocation framework includes a newly authorized share repurchase program worth billions of dollars, intended to support earnings accretion.
Those company-specific developments and smartphone supply opportunities helped Skyworks outperform despite broader macroeconomic turbulence and sector-wide volatility, the report said.
Looking ahead, the pending Qorvo combination targets substantial operational synergies while diversifying end-market exposure across industrial, automotive, and defence channels as final regulatory reviews progress.
