accesso CEO: Cash EBITDA up 50% as company builds 'connected' software ecosystem

accesso Technology Group PLC (LSE:ACSO, OTC:LOQPF, FRA:LQG) CEO Lee Cowie spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's interim results, the improvement in cash EBITDA, its move towards a connected software ecosystem, and growth opportunities from accesso Intelligence and accessoPay.
Cowie explained that while revenue was broadly flat, cash EBITDA rose almost 50%, reflecting cost action taken in January. He said Accesso had been "very judicious on our costs," with those measures now flowing through and driving the improvement.
The CEO also discussed accesso's shift from individual products towards a connected software ecosystem, aiming to serve venues more effectively across the customer journey, including the points where money changes hands between guests and venues.
Cowie highlighted the potential of accesso Intelligence following the Dexibit acquisition, describing the acquired platform as "AI first" and positioned on top of Accesso's existing ecosystem to add further value for customers.
accessoPay represents another opportunity. accesso processes around $5 billion of gross transaction volume through its platforms, with Cowie estimating $1-2 billion of that could be addressable within its existing customer base, at a margin of around 40 to 100 basis points.
Looking ahead, Cowie reiterated 2026 guidance, highlighting the importance of October trading around Halloween and around $1 million of milestone payments in Saudi Arabia.

00:01 Lee KawaiSo we process through our platforms about 5 billion of uh gross transaction uh volume and that has enabled us to negotiate some really compelling wholesale prices in our payments.
00:16 StephenHello, you're watching Proactive. I'm joined by Accessive Technology CEO, Lee Kawai. Lee, very good to meet you. You're out with your interim results today and the first one since you took over as CEO. Revenue is broadly flat, but the cash EBIDA jumped almost 50%. What drove that improvement?
00:41 Lee KawaiSo it's lovely to be here, Stephen. Uh, we have been very judicious on our costs. So we took some definitive uh action with our cost base in January and we're seeing that flow through now uh and benefiting the the P&L this year. So that's what's kind of driving the the improvement in the EBIDA.
01:10 StephenUh you're moving from individual products to connected software ecosystem. Uh how's that changing the way you win customers, Lee?
01:21 Lee KawaiSo we have a set of really interesting and compelling uh capabilities uh and when we deploy them in unison in in an attraction, we're able to better serve a venue and um deliver much more value into the uh organization. So as we talk about our ecosystem, we're talking about being able to solve for uh every point money changes hands between a guest uh and a venue. And then tying that together with our intelligence platform allows us to surface insights across a whole breadth of the uh customer journey that we've not been able to do in the past.
02:00 Stephenthe Vexibit acquisition already generating interest with around 100 cross-sell opportunities. How significant could excess intelligence become Lee?
02:14 Lee KawaiSo we're very, very excited about the capabilities that we've acquired with uh Vexibit. The platform itself is AI first, the team operate in an AI first way and we're able to bring uh features and capabilities to market at a really impressive pace. uh and when we position that on top of our ecosystem, our traditional strengths, we provide real value into an organization. So, I'm very excited about the possibilities for that.
02:51 Stephenaccess of pay now live with 13 customers signed. What what could payments add to the business as volumes build?
03:04 Lee KawaiSo we process through our platforms about 5 billion of uh gross transaction uh volume and that has enabled us to negotiate some really compelling wholesale prices in our payments. Now, we think that uh within our existing customer base, maybe between 1 and 2 billion of that is uh addressable and accessible for us. and uh we will take a margin of somewhere between 40 and 100 basis points on uh the the transaction volume. So it could be very meaningful for us as a business.
03:49 StephenLee, you've reiterated your 2026 guidance. What's the key things you need to deliver in the second half to hit it?
03:59 Lee KawaiSo we have a couple of peak period still to come. uh October for us around Halloween is a a very important trading month for us. It is as big as any one of the summer months. And there's just a couple of milestones that we're keeping an eye on uh in Saudi. It's about uh 1 million of milestone payments which we have a high degree of confidence on but you know, given the geopolitical uncertainty out there, we we're just keeping an eye on it.
04:31 StephenWell, Lee, I hope you'll continue to keep us updated with your progress. Thank you very much for your time today.
04:39 Lee KawaiThank you, Stephen.
04:41 StephenThat's Accesso CEO Lee Kawai.
