Why Is The Crypto Market Up Today?

The crypto market moved up over 1% since Monday's close to $2.68 trillion, its first green candle after two red sessions.
US stocks ended Tuesday in red, and the funds that carried August pulled money out. Therefore, the crypto bounce could be the Wall Street money trickling in.
1. Crypto Market Climbed as Wall Street Slipped
The market sits 1.02% above the session low, last closing green on September 6. Wall Street reopened after Labor Day and went the other way.
The S&P 500 fell 0.58% to 7,673.52 and the Nasdaq lost 0.32%, dragged by oil pushing above $100 a barrel and an escalating US and Canada trade dispute.
Crypto ignored both, even with a September rate hike still live, which raises the question of who was buying.
$2.73 trillion still caps the range, and only a daily close above it turns this into a trend. Below, $2.62 trillion held both red sessions, and losing it opens $2.59 trillion.
-
Crypto: up to $2.68 trillion, first green in three days
-
Equities: S&P 500 down 0.58%, Nasdaq down 0.32%
-
Oil: near $100 a barrel, and stocks followed it lower
2. Fund Money Left While Prices Rose
Not institutions. Spot Bitcoin ETFs opened the new week with a $46.65 million net outflow, ending three straight inflow weeks worth $3.83 billion.
Trading through them thinned too, $2.41 billion against $14.50 billion the week before, and assets slipped to $99.52 billion from $101.25 billion. So today's early bid possibly came from exchange traders.
-
Week so far: minus $46.65 million, first red week in four
-
Streak broken: $3.83 billion in through September 4
-
Fund assets: $99.52 billion, down from $101.25 billion
Coin Spotlight: Polkadot (DOT)
Polkadot (DOT) added 13% in a day to $1.20 and is up 52% over a month. The reason is possibly on-chain. Holders are voting to create dotUSD, a native stablecoin backed by DOT itself, seeded with $2.5 million of minting and $2.5 million in DOT.
Backing a stablecoin with DOT locks the token away rather than spending it, so the vote reads as demand. Few holders have voted so far, 2.36 million DOT in favour against 59,900 opposed, but almost every one of them said yes.
DOT broke a rising neckline on September 8, completing an inverse head and shoulders that projects to $1.62. The break came on the run's heaviest buying volume. Price stalled under $1.29 and eased to $1.20, though selling stays lighter than the August 22 peak.
-
Move: up 13% in a day, 52% in a month
-
Trigger: $1.29, with $1.62 the full projection above it
-
Cushion: $1.11, then $1.04
Analyst's View: Friday decides the week. August inflation lands then, and energy was already running 14.7% higher in July, with oil now near $100.
A market that rose on exchange money while the funds walked out might not be ready for a bad number.
