Dadachanji Group returns to pharmaceutical glass packaging

The Dadachanji Group has returned to the pharmaceutical glass packaging sector with the launch of Kaisha Pharma, five years after exiting the Schott Kaisha joint venture.

In 2021, Serum Institute of India acquired the Indian partner's stake in Schott Kaisha.

The group has committed an initial investment of €45m ($52.2m) to expand operational capacity.

The business would take a more global approach than its earlier India-centred operations.

Kaisha Pharma is entering the market with a product range that includes tubular glass ampoules, vials, prefilled syringes and cartridges.

The company would offer ready-to-use platforms for these products.

Founded by Rishad Dadachanji, the Dadachanji Group has been active for more than three decades in pharmaceutical products, packaging systems and injectables.

Earlier this year, the group launched Kairish Innotech to create an integrated ecosystem.

While Kaisha Pharma manufactures primary packaging, Kairish Innotech provides the secondary deep-tech architecture—including medical device design and manufacturing, tooling, robotics, sterilisation, and industrial automation.

At the launch of Kairish Innotech, Rishad Dadachanji was quoted as saying by ANI News: "Kairish Innotech was built to remove the limitations companies face when adapting standard equipment to specialised processes. We wanted to create a company where innovation begins at the drawing board and ends in a fully functioning, future-ready machine on the client's floor."
