Hans Georgeson has left his position as chief executive of Royal London Asset Management, ending a five-year tenure.

The group's chief executive, Barry O'Dwyer, is starting the recruitment process for a replacement.

Until a permanent appointment is made, group chief financial officer Daniel Cazeaux will take on the role on an interim basis.

Royal London Group CEO Barry O'Dwyer said: "I would like to thank Hans for his significant contribution over the past five years. Under his leadership, Royal London Asset Management has grown strongly, broadened its investment capabilities and strengthened its position as a leading UK asset manager. We wish him continued success in his next role.

"Dan is an excellent interim appointment. He combines deep financial services expertise with a strong understanding of Royal London, Royal London Asset Management and the strategic priorities shaping the business. This means he is well placed to support Royal London Asset Management through this period and maintain our focus on delivering for clients."

Cazeaux joined Royal London in 2020.

Earlier in his career, he was a partner at KPMG in the UK, where he headed client teams working with British and international financial services businesses.

Royal London said he has been involved in the asset management arm's work and in the expansion of the group's private markets activity, including the purchase of Dalmore Capital, an infrastructure investment manager based in the UK.

As part of the interim arrangement, Cazeaux will join the boards of Royal London Asset Management, Royal London Unit Managers and Royal London Unit Trust Managers. He will also continue to serve on the board of Royal London Mutual Insurance Society until a permanent successor is named.

Cazeaux said: "Royal London Asset Management is a business with strong momentum, a clear strategy and a highly capable leadership team. I have worked closely with Hans over recent years and have seen first-hand the strength of Royal London Asset Management's investment capabilities, client focus and long-term ambition. I look forward to working with colleagues to maintain that momentum, continue delivering for clients and support the next stage of the business's growth."
