Nextech3D.AI (CSE:NTAR, OTCQX:NEXCF, FRA:1SS) earlier this week highlighted strong first-quarter growth as CEO Evan Gappelberg said the company was moving beyond its transformation phase and focusing on scaling its AI-powered event technology platform.
Gappelberg told Proactive that Q1 revenue grew about 100% year over year, effectively doubling the business, while gross profit increased 79%.
He said the company's core event technology business grew 47% year over year, reflecting continued adoption of the platform by enterprise customers and increased use of its solutions.
A newer revenue stream is also beginning to contribute. Nextech3D.AI (CSE:NTAR, OTCQX:NEXCF)'s event experience and services business generated $210,000 during the quarter, with Gappelberg noting that the revenue stream did not exist a year earlier.
He said the results reflected a strategy that included streamlining the business, acquiring Eventdex in 2025 and subsequently expanding the company's capabilities.
"The revenue growth is exciting," Gappelberg said, adding that the increase in gross profit was even more significant for management.
Looking ahead, a key potential catalyst identified by Gappelberg is the scaling of Nextech3D.ai's broader event technology offering as the company enters a busier period for conferences, trade shows and other events.
Gappelberg said Nextech3D.ai was looking for a "very, very big Q4" and that business activity was already beginning to pick up as August ended.
He also pointed to a larger product portfolio, broader customer base, additional revenue streams and stronger enterprise relationships as factors that could support growth over the coming quarters.
Another potential catalyst is the company's push to apply artificial intelligence to specific event-industry workflows. Gappelberg said Nextech3D.ai's goal was to bring software, services and AI together within a unified platform capable of managing the event lifecycle.
He argued that the opportunity was not in generic AI but in applying the technology to workflows where customers could immediately see a benefit.
Gappelberg also said enterprise engagement was increasing and described the company's pipeline as the strongest in its history.
"We're building what we believe can become the AI-powered operating system for the entire events industry," he said.
Summing up the shift in management's outlook, Gappelberg said: "This isn't a turnaround story anymore. It's now a growth story."
