Quick Read

  • Gorilla Technology sank 9% despite doubling revenue and guiding 2027 sales 29% above Wall Street consensus after a 43% monthly run.

  • Evolv Technologies and Ambarella each gained 2% while Gorilla fell, with the isolated drop pointing to balance sheet concerns and multi-country construction risk.

Shares of Gorilla Technology Group (NASDAQ:GRRR) are down 11% to $14.06 early Tuesday, a striking reaction to results that saw revenue nearly double and management lift full-year guidance for the second time this year. The move stands out because every listed comparable is higher or flat this morning.

For the broader tech-sector context, the NASDAQ 100 tracking Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) ETF is up 0.8% to $712.19. Checking in on Gorilla's peers, BigBear.ai (NYSE:BBAI) stock is up 1% to $3.11 and Evolv Technologies (NASDAQ:EVLV) stock is up 2% to $5.34. Meanwhile, Ambarella (NASDAQ:AMBA) stock is up 2% to $71.38 and Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) stock is practically unchanged at $175.42.

Gorilla stock was up 43% for the month heading into the release. That climb sets up the crux of today's move: a twice-raised guide, an above-consensus 2027 target, and a 9% drop.

Twice-Raised Guide and a 2027 Target Above Consensus

Gorilla reported first-half 2026 revenue of $78.4 million, up 99% from $39.3 million a year earlier, with Q2 2026 revenue of $50.1 million, up 78% sequentially and 138% year over year. The company said it exceeded its own upgraded second-quarter target because deliverables and milestones on contracted programs finished earlier than expected.

Management lifted the full-year 2026 revenue outlook to at least $200 million, guided Q3 to $48 million to $50 million, and set Q4 at $60 million to $70 million. Gorilla's 2027 target of $450 million to $500 million sits 16% to 29% above Wall Street's consensus of $386.7 million.

What the 2027 Number Leaves Out

Gorilla's 2027 guide includes Yotta Phase 1 at about $100 million annualized incremental revenue, the scheduled first batch of Yotta Phase 2 at about $250 million, and the first 300 NeutraDC servers at roughly $75 million to $80 million annually. It excludes the remaining 700 servers from NeutraDC's initial deployment, another 875 servers planned for a later phase, and part of Yotta Phase 2.

Gorilla CFO Bruce Bower described the method on the earnings call:

How we make guidance is we take what is contracted revenue, where we have an amount and a date. If we have a contract, but maybe the timing is not exactly firmed up or the amounts are not exactly firmed up, we do not include it in the guidance.

Bower added that Gorilla's forecast already contains "existing contracts or contracts that we've won and not yet announced." CEO Jay Chandan said finalizing the additional NeutraDC deployments would prompt a revision: "Once that is done, we will absolutely revise the targets for next year."

The Loss Line and the Build Ahead

The concerns weighing on Gorilla stock start with the reported loss. Adjusted loss per share was $0.58 for the first half, against a $0.32 profit in the same period of 2025, and adjusted EBITDA swung to a first-half loss of $14.6 million from positive $6.2 million a year earlier. Stock-based compensation of roughly $25 million was a major non-cash contributor, alongside heavy infrastructure spending.

Gorilla's 2027 growth path depends on physically installing capacity across Indonesia, Batam and Thailand on schedule. Testing on Yotta Phase 1 is complete, equipment is arriving and installation has begun. A facility spanning Indonesia and the nearby island of Batam is planned at roughly 200 megawatts of computing power, with first services expected mid-2027, while a campus in Thailand has had its land cleared (the same power, cooling, and data-center buildout we mapped across seven non-chipmaker suppliers in a free report).

Bower said Gorilla's GPU-as-a-service projects should carry margins of 75% or higher once running. Retail commentary also pointed to Gorilla stock being near overbought after its 43% monthly climb, which frames the reaction as much about setup as substance.

Peer Moves and Position Sizing

The single-name nature of the drop is the clearest tell in Gorilla's action. BigBear.ai, Evolv Technologies, Ambarella and Palantir Technologies are each higher or flat, and the QQQ ETF is green. That pattern narrows the story to Gorilla's balance sheet and execution timeline rather than any broader AI or security-analytics rotation.

Gorilla carries a market cap of roughly $435 million, negative adjusted EBITDA, heavy capital spending, and a thesis that turns on construction timelines in three countries. That combination produces large percentage swings in both directions, which makes size the discipline rather than direction. As Chandan put it on the call, "We're not expecting the calendars to produce the growth for us. Our answer to all this will be execution."

Traders can watch for updates on NeutraDC deployment finalization at Gorilla, which management said would trigger a revision to the 2027 target. The next data points may come from installation progress in Indonesia and land preparation in Thailand.
