Temu's parent company PDD Holdings has reported a 12% drop in net income for Q2 2026, even as revenue grew 8%.
Net income attributable to ordinary shareholders came in at 27.18bn yuan ($4bn) for the three months ended 30 June 2026 while total revenues rose to 112.35bn yuan.
The increase in revenue was largely driven by transaction services, which grew 13% to 54.72bn yuan.
Income from online marketing services and other sources also increased, reaching 57.63bn yuan, up from 55.7bn yuan in the same period a year earlier.
Operating profit for the quarter reached 27.8bn yuan, an 8% year-on-year rise.
For the first half of the year, net income attributable to ordinary shareholders fell to 39.72bn yuan for the six months ended 30 June, compared with 45.49bn yuan in the equivalent period of 2025.
This decline came even as revenue for the half-year rose to 218.58bn yuan, up from 199.65bn yuan a year earlier.
Operating profit for the same period increased to 47.33bn yuan, from 41.87bn yuan previously.
The financial results follow a series of regulatory setbacks for Temu.
In May, the European Commission (EC) imposed a €200m ($233m) fine on the platform under the Digital Services Act, ruling that it had not properly evaluated risks linked to illegal products sold through its marketplace.
That fine was followed by legal action in Iowa, where Attorney General Brenna Bird filed a petition last month against PDD Holdings – previously known as Pinduoduo – and Whaleco in Polk County District Court, citing the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act.
The complaint alleges deceptive data collection practices, the transfer of user data to China, and consumer fraud. Whaleco is the entity operating under the Temu brand.
In a separate development, the EC issued a statement of grounds earlier this month to PDD Holdings and its Irish subsidiary Whaleco, accusing them of obstructing an inspection conducted under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
