XRP Price Prediction: 45% Gain Ahead as SEC’s New Rules Help XRP Play Catch-Up

XRP (XRP) has rallied by 20% in the past 24 hours and has become the top-performing token in the top 5 during this period, as investors seem to be playing catch-up to push the asset out of its bear market.

Trading volumes for XRP have shot up by 430% during this period, rising to $5.3 billion. This figure accounts for over 6% of the asset's circulating market cap. These are the highest single-day volumes that XRP has seen in months.

The new rules proposed for the crypto market by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) kickstarted a rally that has resulted in the liquidation of over $3 billion worth of short positions in the futures market.

This could mark the beginning of a new bull market for cryptocurrencies, especially if the Clarity Act gets passed in Congress once legislators come back from their summer recess.

During a meeting with top executives from crypto companies in the United States like Coinbase and Ripple, President Donald Trump seemed resolved to get supportive legislation for the sector approved this year.

"We're focused on creating a clear, regulatory framework for pioneers and builders like the people that are with me here, so they can do business with confidence on American soil," the head of state commented.

"We're ensuring America remains the undisputed leader, not only in bitcoin and crypto but also technologies like prediction markets, artificial intelligence and much more," he further added.

XRP would benefit from the approval of this legislation and other supportive regulatory frameworks, as Ripple aims to become the go-to global blockchain-based payments platform for enterprises across the globe.

XRP Could Deliver a 45% Gain If This Happens

Daily short liquidations have spiked to their highest levels in 90 days, setting the stage for a strong rebound after the token hit the $1 psychological threshold. We emphasized in our latest XRP price prediction that a rally off these levels could mark the beginning of a true recovery for the token.

This is exactly what has happened lately, and volumes indicate that the market is on board and ready to push XRP to higher price zones.

The token already broke out of its descending price channel, and this breakout was confirmed by a move above the nearest resistance at $1.15. We had set forth a trading opportunity offering a 2.6x risk-reward ratio, with a target set at $1.32.

The price action is already on track to hit that mark and, as a result, the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) will be retested. This retest will determine if the rally will continue or not.

We expect some sort of pullback following that hit, as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) just entered overbought territory. However, today's liquidations seem to be strong enough to keep bears out of the picture for a while.

If that's the case, we see XRP rising to at least $1.80, meaning a 45% upside potential in the near term.
